Creative Coding with p5.js (1-day Intensive)

p5.js (https://p5js.org/) is a JavaScript library aimed at artists, designers and creatives and is a great medium for creating interactive graphics, animations and generative designs. Developed and maintained by the Processing Foundation, p5.js combines the best of Processing with the creative possibilities of the web.

We're hosting a 1-day intensive workshop on how to get started with Creative Coding using p5.js. Unlike a traditional coding course, we'll focus on a hands-on, project-driven introduction. You'll learn the principles of creative coding, structuring interactive applications and build projects each step of the way. After getting the fundamentals down, we'll explore the cutting edge by combining creative coding with Physical Computing (e.g. using Arduino with p5.js), creating generative designs and building real-time interactive audio-visuals.

NOTES: + You must bring your own laptop to effectively leverage the skills taught in this workshop! Any Windows, Mac or Linux machine is fine + This is a workshop on programming for artistic purpose, and is targeted to Artists, Designers, or anybody who wants to learn how to code for the purpose of creative expression! + We especially welcome beginners, if you have never written a line of code in your life, this is a great introduction to basic programming principles. If you are an intermediate coder, we will take extra steps to introduce new and interesting computational methods with p5.js + Anybody over the age of 10 can attend this workshop, but please understand that we will not be customizing any of the content for "an age-appropriate" audience.
